In 2006, the founder of AIDS Holistics sent his two daughters to the Gordons International School near the Gordons market. He was able to pay the school fees from funding that he had access to in Australia.
As well, he was saving his own personal funds by trekking Kokoda which he used as funds for the Positive Living campaign. The girls liked the Gordons International School.
The founder of AIDS Holistics put to the back of his mind that the International Education Agency (IEA) had a long gay, lesbian and paedophile track record among teachers. But all the teachers at Gordons were PNG people.
He became a member of the Board of Governors and quietly gave support to the school. To each meeting of Governors came an executive officer of the IEA. He sat quietly usually on the opposite side of the table to the founder of AIDS Holistics.
Copeland had a problem in that he damaged his back in a fall from the Kokoda Track at Menari. Trekking Kokoda was put on hold for a few months.
He fell behind in payments of school fees along with 20 or 30 other families but undertook to be up-to-date within the month. This was discussed at a Board of Governors meeting.
